A nice way to highlight the beauty of a living room with no architectural details is with an entertainment center or wall unit such as this one. Because the unit features all sorts of carved out details, it doesn"t need a striking color or an unusual shape to stand out.
For the living room it's usually best to opt for a large wall unit, maybe an entertainment center that would allow you to store all the things like TV, DVD player and other similar items. It will also provide you with additional storage space for decorations and other items.A good example in this case would the Nightfly Entertainment Center. It's an elegant and also versatile unit for the living room.
If there is an alcove in which you are building the center, fill the space completely with cabinets to give it the look of built-ins. Arrange cabinets so there is ample space in the center for your TV. Remove cabinet doors so the cabinets look more like built-in structures. Fill the holes with putty. Use a thick slab of wood for the main shelf supporting the TV, or as support over the top of a short cabinet on which the TV rests. Paint the entire structure the same color as the walls in the room to give it that built in, been-there-for-years look.
